"Forever Maine" created as a large-scale oil on canvas in 2002 by Greg Mort
to celebrate his twenty-fifth year of painting in Maine. The beautiful image
clearly expresses both the artist's emotional ties to Maine's rugged coastal
waters and his love of the cosmos that are each so much a part of his life in
Port Clyde, Maine.
"Forever Maine" is a powerful depiction of the sea and sky and was inspired
by the narrow stretch, which leads to the famous Marshall Point Light House
only a few hundred yards from the Mort's summer studio in Port Clyde. The
towering granite cliffs combined with the majestic fir trees that climb
skyward to the Milky Way suggest the boundless reach of nature and its
infinite majesty.
"Forever Maine" ~ Twenty-fifth Anniversary Celebration Edition was created
by the fine art printers at West Noble Printers as a limited edition, four
color, signed and numbered museum quality lithograph. The edition is 450 with
50 Artist Proofs. The image size is 15" X 18" and the overall size of the
piece is 19" X 22." It is printed on archival paper with the finest inks.
